Su sencillo "Algo sobre la forma de mirar esta noche" / "Candle in the Wind 1997" vendió más de 33 millones de copias en todo el mundo y es "el single más vendido de todos los tiempos". Ha recibido seis premios Grammy, cinco premios Brit Awards - ganando dos premios por contribución excepcional a la música y el primer icono británico en 2013 por su "impacto duradero en la cultura británica", un premio de la Academia, un Golden Globe Award, un Tony Award, El premio Disney Legend y el Kennedy Center Honors en 2004. En 2004, Rolling Stone lo clasificó número 49 en su lista de 100 músicos influyentes de la era del rock and roll.
En 2008, Billboard lo clasificó como el artista solista masculino más exitoso en "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists" (tercero en general).
Elton John fue introducido en el Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 1994, es un inductee en el Salón de la Fama del compositor, y es un compañero de la Academia Británica de compositores y autores. Habiendo sido nombrado Comandante de la Orden del Imperio Británico en 1996, John recibió el título de caballero de Elizabeth II por "servicios a la música y servicios de caridad" en 1998. Empecemos me llamo Francisco Martinez Gich natural de Canet de Mar "Barcelona" estoy retirado hace bastante tiempo, para recuperar un poco el tiempo empecé a montar un Blog en blogger después otro y otro hasta la cantidad de "43" blogs, diréis tú estás loco y yo os diré que si porque vosotros no sabéis el trabajo que conlleva todo esto y más si quieres ser un poco regular.
